Programs/Services » Residential Home Support Program

Howe Sound's Residential Home Support Program has been proudly serving individuals with disabilities and their families since 1988.

Our Homes

Howe Sound offers a Residential Home Support Program to six residential homes located throughout Vancouver's lower mainland; Blueridge House, Windsong House, Windridge House, Kerrywood, Bear Creek House and Holly Park House. The Residential Home Support Program offers accommodations to twenty-three individuals with an acquired brain injury, physical and developmental disabilities, and medical health care needs. They are provided with a nurturing, secure and safe home environment as well as their own personal space that provides privacy. Each of the homes provides reasonable accommodations to enable each person's participation in their home and organization's activities. The homes are wheel chair accessible, well equipped with adaptive equipment and staffed seven days per week/twenty-four hours a day.

Our Staff

The Residential Home Support Program staffs approximately 120 employees in management, permanent, part-time, and casual positions. All staff members with Howe Sound are fully qualified and meet all employment requirements. Typically, staffing consists of a ratio of one staff to two individuals with the exception of certain clients that require one to one staffing.

Our Program

The Residential Home Support Program offers individualized programs specifically designed to meet each client's individual strengths, needs, wants, preferences and desired goals. The programs that we offer include: Communication, Education, Daily Living Skills, Hygiene, Physiotherapy and Recreational Evening and Weekend Activities. The program provides each resident with the opportunity to participate in the community, through building social contacts, personal relationships and community networks.
